Are you an Opsimath, a person who begins or continues to learn or study late in life? If your answer is “yes”, please join our book club. The discussion group meets every third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in Holy Grounds Coffee Shop. We read a variety of genres including mystery, thriller, historical fiction, non-fiction, romance, and contemporary. Several we have read include News of the World by Jules Crossword, Educated, a memoir by Tara Westover, Radium Girls by Kate Moore, and Stolen Beauty by Laura Albanese. We love Louise Penny mysteries and adore William Kent Krueger. Agatha Christie is on our list! On October 19, the choice is The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett. The story takes place from the 1950s to the 1990s extending from the Deep South to California and weaves the lives of several generations together. It is a riveting and emotional family story that explores race, gender, and identity. Books are available in the narthex. Please use the sign-up sheet and note name, email, and book zebra code.
