Years ago I would gather with a group of pastors for a day of prayer several times during the year. No agenda … just prayer and praise. Wonderful memories of encouraging one another and listening to one another as we listened to the still voice of God. We always ended the day singing together: “When peace like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll. Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say it is well, it is well, with my soul.”
Even though we cannot gather together for worship and prayer in our sanctuary, we can still pray together. Each evening at 9:00 pm take time to pray. We join together with others in the community for prayer and praise. This can encourage a sense of unity and togetherness.
Perhaps Psalm 46 can serve as a guide for our prayers. “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in distress. Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken and mountains quake to the depths of the sea.”
