Mission Quilters prepare quilts to be distributed by Lutheran World Relief. A quilt provides warmth as a blanket, may be a room divider, a backpack for possessions or a wrap to carry an infant. Since 1945, U.S. Lutherans have provided materials that travel through a coordinated, intercontinental pipeline to 27 different countries. Once a year, we celebrate Quilt Sunday where the quilts adorn pews, a blessing is given, and the quilts are then paced into boxes for delivery to a shipping location. Mission Quilters meet the second Friday of each month from 10 am until 2 pm in the church just outside the sanctuary. Donations of polyester batting and sheets are appreciated.
