quiltMISSION QUILTERS – Mission Quilters prepare quilts to be distributed by Lutheran World Relief A quilt is made of colorful pieces of donated fabric sewn to a sheet for a backing. A quilt provides warmth as a blanket, may be a room divider, a backpack for possessions or a wrap to carry an infant. Since 1945, U.S. Lutherans have provided materials that travel through a coordinated, intercontinental pipeline to 27 different countries. Once a year, we celebrate Quilt Sunday where the quilts adorn pews, a blessing is given, and the quilts are then paced into boxes for delivery to a shipping location. Mission Quilters meet the second Friday of each month from 10 am until 2 pm in the church just outside the sanctuary. Donations of polyester batting and sheets are appreciated.

We are a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. This organization supports Lutheran World Relief and Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.HEALTH KITS are prepared and distributed through Lutheran World Relief throughout the world.
