Christ Lutheran enjoys a position of strength. We have no debt and pay our bills on time. We have dedicated volunteers and a sense of unity and loving fellowship. And we have God’s Word and promise that God is always with us!

Yet we look to the future and acknowledge that we need to grow. We need to experience deeper spiritual growth and yes, we need to grow numerically. In recent months we have seen a few new families and couples join our worship. We praise God for these people.

In February we hired a church consultant, Pastor Dave Daubert, to work with us. We received a grant from our Synod to pay 2/3 of the cost and we paid the other 1/3. A committee met with Dave initially and we went out to talk with community leaders to see the needs of Palatine and how CLC is perceived by the community. Then we had a Saturday gathering with all interested from the congregation for discussion. Finally, all that information was studied and summarized.

This is what you the congregation told us what our purpose should be: “Growing more and more like Jesus and sharing Christ’s love with our neighbors”. What a grand purpose. This will be our task, and I intend to remind us all of the power of sharing the love of Christ with the world.

Thank you Christ Lutheran for the privilege of serving Jesus and the community alongside of you. Time to roll up our sleeves and get to work!
